Dua Upon Waking Up
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَمَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Translation: All praise is for Allah, Who gave us life after causing us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
Dua for Wearing New Clothes
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهُ وَخَيْرَ صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ
Translation: O Allah, all praise belongs to You. You have clothed me. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of its purpose, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of its purpose.
Dua After Eating
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
Translation: All praise is for Allah who fed us and quenched our thirst and made us Muslims.
Dua Before Sleeping
اللَّهُمَّ بِسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَ
Translation: O Allah, in Your name I die and I live.
Dua When Performing Wudu
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي وَوَسِّعْ لِي فِي دَارِي وَبَارِكْ لِي فِي رِزْقِي
Translation: O Allah, forgive my sins, expand my home, and bless my sustenance.
Dua for Entering the Bathroom
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ
Translation: O Allah, I seek Your protection from male and female devils.
Dua for Leaving the Bathroom
غُفْرَانَكَ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنِّي الْأَذَى وَعَافَانِي
Translation: I ask You for Your forgiveness. All praise is for Allah who removed the harm from me and gave me relief.
Dua Before Eating
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ وَبِبَرَكَةِ اللَّـهِ
Translation: In the name of Allah, and with the blessings of Allah, I begin.
Dua for Entering the House
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْمَوْلِجِ وَخَيْرَ الْمَخْرَجِ
Translation: O Allah, I ask You for blessings upon entering and exiting.
Dua for Leaving the House
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّـهِ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّـهِ
Translation: In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah. There is no might or power except with Allah.
11. Dua Before Starting a Journey
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ
Translation: Glory is to Him who has brought this under our control, whereas we were unable to control it. Surely, to our Lord, we are returning.
Dua When Entering a City or Town
اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَفِي رِزْقِنا وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ أَهْلِهَا الصَّالِحِينَ
Translation: O Allah, bless us in this city and its provisions, and make us among its righteous inhabitants.
Dua for Returning from a Journey
آيبون تائبون عابدون لربنا حامدون
Translation: We return, repent, worship, and praise our Lord.
Dua for Safety from Evil
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Translation: In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing in the earth or the heavens can harm, and He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Dua for Protection at Night
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّـهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ
Translation: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.
Dua for Protection Against the Evil Eye
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّـهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
Translation: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, harmful thing, and accusing eye.
General Dua for Forgiveness
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَعَافِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي
Translation: O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, give me health, and provide for me.
Dua for Repentance
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنتَ
Translation: O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for surely no one can forgive sins except You.
Dua for Morning Remembrance
اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ
Translation: O Allah, by Your permission, we have reached the morning, and by Your permission, we live and die, and to You is the resurrection.
Dua for Evening Remembrance
اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ
Translation: O Allah, by Your permission, we have reached the evening, and by Your permission, we live and die, and to You is our return.
Dua for Thanking Allah
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ
Translation: O Allah, all praise is for You for Your blessings upon me and my family, and all praise is due to You for protecting us from harm.
Dua for Contentment
اللَّهُمَّ قَنِّعْنِي بِمَا رَزَقْتَنِي وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ وَاخْلُفْ عَلَيَّ كُلَّ غَائِبَةٍ لِي بِخَيْرٍ
Translation: O Allah, make me content with what You have provided me and bless it for me, and replace what I have lost with something better.
Dua for Seeking Protection from Poverty
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ وَالْقَحْطِ وَالْمَحْتَاجَةِ وَالذُّلِّ وَالْفَقَرِ
Translation: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from poverty, famine, need, humiliation, and poverty.
Dua for Protection from Harm
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقْتُ
Translation: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what You have created.
Dua for Seeking Allah's Mercy
اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ
Translation: O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye, and rectify all of my affairs.
Dua for Relief from Worry
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَغَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ
Translation: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety, sorrow, helplessness, laziness, cowardice, stinginess, the burden of debts, and the oppression of men.
Dua for Healing and Good Health
اللَّهُمَّ شِفَاءٌ لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Translation: O Allah, grant healing that leaves no illness behind.
Dua for Blessings in One’s Offspring
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مُبَارَكًا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكِ
Translation: O Allah, make my offspring blessed and in Your mercy.
Dua for Ease in Affairs
اللَّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ لِي كُلَّ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ لِي
Translation: O Allah, make easy for me everything that is good for me.
Dua for Knowledge and Wisdom
اللَّهُمَّ فَتِّحْ عَلَيَّ فَهْمِي وَمَعْرِفَتِي وَحِكْمَتِي
Translation: O Allah, open for me understanding, knowledge, and wisdom.
Dua for Protection from the Devil
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشَرِّهِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفْسِ وَشَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا
Translation: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the devil, from his evil, from the evil of the self, and from the evil of every creature You hold by the forelock.
Dua for Success
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فَشَلٍ وَفَقْرٍ وَمِنْ ضِيقَةٍ وَمِنْ قَبْحَةٍ أَمَامَ النَّاسِ
Translation: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from failure, poverty, hardship, and disgrace in front of the people.
Dua for Patience
رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Translation: My Lord, grant me patience and make my patience beautiful. All praise is for Allah, Lord of the worlds.
Dua for a Good Spouse
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَجَعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Translation: Our Lord, grant us from our wives and children the joy of our eyes, and make us an example for the righteous.
Dua for Protection from Trials
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ
Translation: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death, and from the trial of the false messiah.
Dua for Good Character
اللَّهُمَّ زَيِّنْنِي بِزِينَةِ الْإِيمَانِ وَجَمِّلْنِي بِجَمَالِهِ وَفِيهِ
Translation: O Allah, adorn me with the beauty of faith, and make me beautiful with its qualities.
Dua for Contentment and Peace of Mind
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ رِضَاكَ وَسَاعِدْنِي فِي الْعَمَلِ بِمَا تَرْضَى
Translation: O Allah, make me among those who seek Your contentment and help me in deeds that please You.
Dua for the Ummah
اللَّهُمَّ اجْمَعْ شَمْلَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَوَحِّدْ كَلِمَتَهُمْ وَفَرِّجْ عَنْهُمْ كُلَّ كُرْبَةٍ
Translation: O Allah, unite the Muslims, reconcile their hearts, and relieve them from every hardship.
Dua for the Deceased
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِمَيِّتِنَا وَارْحَمْهُ وَجَافِ الْأَرْضَ عَنْهُ وَوَسِّعْ مَدْخَلَهُ
Translation: O Allah, forgive our deceased, have mercy upon him, make his grave wide, and bless him with peace.
Dua for Seeking Allah's Guidance
اللَّهُمَّ هِدِنِي لِأَحْسَنِ الْأَعْمَالِ وَأَحْسَنِ الْأَقْوَالِ
Translation: O Allah, guide me to the best of deeds and the best of words.
